Christie Care Services Limited received an overall rating of Requires Improvement at its first inspection, with breaches of regulations covering medicines management (Reg 12), staffing/training (Reg 18), recruitment (Reg 19), and governance (Reg 17). Caring and responsive practice were rated Good, supported by positive relative feedback, but significant gaps in medication records, staff training completion, risk assessment accessibility, and quality assurance systems posed risks to people's safety.

Strengths

· Positive feedback from relatives about care quality; staff described as caring, kind and respectful of people's dignity and privacy.
· Staff liaised effectively with healthcare professionals such as district nurses and GPs to improve outcomes for people.
· Detailed care plans in place covering needs, preferences, communication requirements and personalised support.
· Effective infection prevention and control; staff consistently wore appropriate PPE.
· Regular supervision sessions provided to staff, including observation of working practice.
