Date of assessment: 23 April to 6 May 2025. The service is a domiciliary care agency (DCA) registered to provide personal care. People were supported with their personal care needs to enable them to live in their own homes and promote their independence. At the time of the assessment the service supported 43 people with personal care. This service is registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, the service was not used by anyone with a learning disability or an autistic person. However, we considered the Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture guidance during this inspection because it is registered as a specialist service for this population group. We found care was provided in line with this guidance. Records and guidance for ‘as and when needed’ medicines needed some improvements. Some areas of care plans and risk assessments were not up to date, and some did not reflect all the information known by staff about people’s care. Further management oversight was required to ensure CQC notifications were submitted in a timely manner and to ensure the accuracy of records and care plans. However, leaders acted during our inspection to make these improvements. Staff were trained and supervised to help ensure people’s care was provided safely and with their consent. People’s preferences were known and informed their care plans, this helped staff provide person-centred care. Staff worked together with relevant health and social care professionals to help reduce risks and ensure people’s care was effective. Staff understood how to promote people’s independence and respected their privacy and dignity. People’s feedback and comments were welcomed, and any complaints or issues were resolved openly and transparently. Steps were taken to ensure equality for people when they received care. Leaders were passionate about providing compassionate care and were caring and supportive to their staff team. They created a culture where people and staff could easily speak up if something was not right or could be improved. This helped to create a continuous learning culture at the service.
