Date of assessment: 18 September to 01 October 2025. Angelica Care Mid Sussex is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people living in their own homes. At the time of our assessment 78 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. Staff monitored people’s health needs and quickly sought medical advice in response to any changes. Staff generally understood and managed risk and records provided enough detail. Staff followed professional advice, monitored outcomes and provided feedback to professionals when needed. People’s medicines were administered and managed safely. Staff protected people from the risk of harm or abuse and knew how and with whom to raise concerns. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. People and family members knew how to give feedback and were confident the service took it seriously and acted on it. Staff provided person-centred care and knew who and what was important to the people they supported. People were treated with kindness and compassion and had a high level of consistency in care staff. Staff protected people’s privacy and dignity and supported their preferences The provider was also the registered manager and was actively involved in the day to day running of the service and created an open and inclusive culture for people, their family members and staff. Staff felt valued by the provider and manager and were encouraged to give feedback. The provider sought people’s feedback and learned from their peers in the wider sector to continually improve people’s experience. Ongoing quality assurance systems fed into service development plans to benchmark and continually improve the service.
