Higher Height Care, a small domiciliary care agency serving four people, received a Good rating across all five key questions at its first CQC inspection in June 2022. The service demonstrated safe, person-centred care with strong leadership, though a minor inaccuracy in the complaints policy regarding CQC's investigatory role was identified and promptly corrected.

: “The procedure implied that the Care Quality Commission investigate complaints. This is not the case as CQC cannot, by law, investigate individual complaints.”

Strengths

· People felt very safe with staff and were protected from the risk of abuse and avoidable harm.
· Individualised, person-centred risk assessments covered personal care and environmental risks.
· Robust recruitment practices including DBS checks ensured only suitable staff were employed.
· Sufficient staffing was always in place with no missed calls reported.
· Staff received appropriate induction and training including infection control, medication and health and safety.
