Ashness Domiciliary Care received an overall Good rating following a focused remote inspection of the effective and well-led key questions, with safe, caring and responsive ratings carried forward from the previous 2018 Good inspection. A minor recommendation was made to strengthen risk management assessments, but the service demonstrated strong person-centred culture, low staff turnover, and effective multi-agency working.

Strengths

· Staff turnover was very low, supporting consistent care from staff who knew people well
· Staff were able to describe people's needs without referring to documentation, demonstrating strong knowledge of individuals
· Care plans reflected a good understanding of people's mental and physical health needs, including input from GP, physiotherapist, district nurses and speech and language therapist
· Positive and open culture with staff able to raise concerns without fear
· Regular audits covering medicines, care notes, care plans, health and safety and staff files
