Voyage (DCA) Berkshire received a Good rating across all five key questions at its first inspection at a newly registered address, demonstrating safe, person-centred care with strong governance and multi-agency partnership. One minor gap in high-risk medication protocols was identified and rectified immediately during the inspection.

Medication management

: “We identified one person was on a high-risk medicine... a protocol in place to identify risks for staff to be aware of whilst the person is on that medicine... this was not seen.”

Strengths

· People experienced good continuity of care from staff they knew well, with rotas confirming consistent staffing.
· Person-centred care plans were personalised, regularly reviewed, and written in easy-read formats with pictures.
· Robust recruitment procedures including DBS checks, employment history and relevant qualifications for all staff files.
· Effective multi-agency partnership working with GPs, local authorities, chiropodists and dentists.
· Monthly medicine audits, incident/accident theme analysis, and monthly operations assurance visit audits demonstrated strong governance.
