   This was a targeted IPC inspection of Redfern, a care home for up to seven people with learning disabilities or autism, and was inspected but not rated. Inspectors were assured across all IPC areas, finding good infection prevention practice, appropriate PPE use, testing and vaccination checks.

   Strengths

   • · Systems in place to help prevent people, staff and visitors from catching or spreading infection
   • · Environment was clean with additional cleaning of frequently touched surfaces and good ventilation
   • · Staff wore appropriate PPE with sufficient supplies, weekly checks, PPE stations and appropriate disposal bins
   • · Staff had undertaken training in donning/doffing PPE, hand hygiene and infection prevention and control
   • · People supported to keep in contact with loved ones via technology and visits
