Date of assessment was 9 March 2026 to 12 March 2026. Partners in Care (Nottingham) Limited is a homecare service providing care and support to adults of all ages, people who are living with dementia, mental health conditions, substance misuse problems, physical disabilities or sensory impairments living in their own home. At the time of our assessment 24 people were supported by the service with a regulated activity. Regulated activity is defined as help with care related to personal hygiene and eating. The provider had registered with us on 26 January 2022, and this is their first assessment. This was an offsite assessment; this meant we requested all records to be sent to us electronically and reviewed them offsite. We announced the assessment 72 hours before to ensure there would be someone available at the office to support the assessment and send all the requested information. The registered manager was experienced, capable, and compassionate, who provided clear leadership and maintained a positive culture within the service. Effective governance systems were in place and provided robust and accurate oversight of the service. Quality assurance processes were established and helped maintain safe and consistent standards of care. There were enough staff to ensure people received their scheduled care visits, and staff remained for the full allocated time. Care plans were detailed and included clear written guidance to ensure staff could support people safely and effectively. Medicines were managed safely, and all incidents and accidents were appropriately reviewed to identify learning and reduce future risks. People were treated with kindness and respect, and both staff and the registered manager demonstrated a strong understanding of people’s needs and preferences. However, the Mental Capacity Act (2005) was not always applied consistently. Decision‑specific capacity assessments were not routinely completed for people identified as potentially lacking capacity, which meant some decisions were not fully aligned with legal requirements.
