   This was a targeted CQC inspection of Amicare House domiciliary care service focused solely on infection prevention and control, which did not change the previous Good rating. Inspectors were assured that PPE use, staff training, testing, vaccination uptake and contingency planning were robust and protected people from infection risks.

   Strengths

   • · Effective and safe use of PPE; staff consistently wore gloves, masks and aprons and changed them between tasks
   • · Sufficient supplies of PPE including additional items (sleeve protectors, visors) for supporting COVID-positive people
   • · Staff received regular training, updates and distance learning on infection prevention and COVID-19 guidance
   • · Regular manager spot checks and observations to ensure staff competency in managing infection risks
   • · Robust contingency planning ensured staffing levels were maintained and people did not experience missed calls
