Date of assessment: 24 March 2026 to 8 April 2026. VanBeekDodge Complex Care is a service providing care and support to people with a learning disability and autistic people in their own homes, in a supported living setting. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects services where people receive the regulated activity of personal care. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection, 5 people were receiving personal care. People were kept safe by staff that had knowledge and understanding of their responsibilities to protect people from harm or abuse. They knew the signs to recognise abuse and the procedure to report any concerns internally of externally. Risks to people were identified and actions put in place to ensure risks were minimised and people kept safe. People received their medicines as prescribed, and the management of medicines was safe. People’s needs were met through appropriately planned care, and they were cared for by sufficient numbers of staff who were trained to support them. Staff were supported through effective induction, supervision, appraisal and training to provide effective support to people. People had choices about how they wanted their day-to-day care delivered and staff respected their decisions. People’s care and support reflected their choices, preferences, personalities, needs and individuality. People, their relatives and healthcare professionals spoke very positively about the service. There were systems in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service. The provider and registered manager worked well with other healthcare professionals, and we received positive feedback. All staff were very positive about their employment at the service and the support they received from the service management.
