Date of assessment 3 July 2025 to 21 July 2025. Advance Newham Domiciliary Care and Supported Living Service is a supported living service for 5 people with learning disabilities and autistic people in their own flats. As part of this service’s registration, they additionally support a person with personal care in their own home nearby. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and access to communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is a guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people which providers must adhere to. People’s care plans were well written with a level of detail that ensured people received good care. They were person centred and informed the reader about who the person was, what was important to them and how they wanted to be supported. There was a well-established staff team, many who had worked in the service for a number of years. There were no staff vacancies which meant that people were always supported by the same people, giving them the consistency they needed. People were supported to make decisions about the care they received. Records indicated that people were central to decisions and where that was difficult, other people such as families and professionals were involved. Feedback we received from families was overwhelmingly positive and it was clear that relationships between the service and the families was based on honesty and transparency and had been established over many years. The support people received was person centred. Information written about them outlined in detail the individual preferences of how people wanted to be supported. People’s support throughout each day was tailored to what they wanted and the flats they lived in were reflective of who they were. This was the first assessment for this service, and we rated it good.
