Date of Assessment: 10 September to 16 September 2025. The service is a care at home service, registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide personal care to people living in their own homes. This is to help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. At the time of the assessment, the provider delivered personal care to 13 people. All required checks were completed prior to staff starting to work at the service. Staff received comprehensive induction, ongoing training, and regular supervision, which enabled them to deliver safe care. There was a positive learning culture that helped embed good practice. Risks were well managed and care plans and risk assessments were person centred. Staff had received training in safeguarding people from abuse and demonstrated a clear understanding of their responsibilities to protect people from abuse. Medicines were managed safely, with robust systems for competency checks and monitoring to ensure safe administration and record keeping. Detailed assessments were completed with people, and their relatives, prior to people starting to use the service ensuring care was tailored to individual needs. Staff consistently sought and recorded people’s consent to care and support, in line with the Mental Capacity Act (2005) (MCA). Outcomes were monitored and improved through regular reviews. People were supported to live healthier lives and access relevant healthcare. The provider and staff placed great importance on supporting people to eat and drink well. Staff spoke respectfully, and with fondness, about the people they supported. Staff valued individuals’ unique backgrounds and preferences. Independence, choice, and control were valued and promoted. Staff wellbeing actively promoted, with strong management support, recognition schemes, and a positive team culture. Staff felt respected, valued and supported and told us there was good morale within the staff team. The provider had developed good links with community organisations and agencies. Care and support were tailored to people’s needs, cultural, religious, and personal preferences. There was a clear culture, vision and values, which staff understood and shared. The provider was very committed to providing responsive, personalised care and support. The provider and managers had robust oversight of the service, with regular audits and systems in place to monitor quality and safety. This also included regular oversight of staff practice and supporting of staff with continuous development. Everyone was very positive about the provider and the way the service was organised and run. Staff spoke very positively about the provider, managers and working at the service. A staff member said, “I would just like to say they are a brilliant company to work for. They are kind, practice what they preach and very supportive. I don't think I have ever worked for someone who does all of that.”
