Date of assessment: 8 January to 12 January 2026. Serene Healthcare Services Ltd is registered to provide personal care to people living in their own homes. At the time of our inspection, there were 2 people receiving a regulated activity of personal care, on a live-in care arrangement. This was the first inspection of the service since it registered with us. People’s medicines were not managed safely. Records relating to the administration of medicines were outdated and there was conflicting information. Additionally, staff were supporting people with specialist medicines without any formal agreement in place nor any formal competency checks from a trained healthcare professional. This put people at risk of not receiving their medicines safely or prescribed. People did not have records to demonstrate they consented to their care and treatment, or a best interest decision relating to this. Audits had not been undertaken frequently and were not effective in identifying the concerns found during the inspection. However, staff were kind and caring. Staff supported people to live a healthy life and to access healthcare services when needed. Staff knew people well and supported them effectively. Staff were recruited safely and had received training relevant to their role. Staff told us they felt well supported by leaders and told us communication was good. The service worked well with healthcare partners and other organisations to improve the delivery of care. We identified 2 breaches of the legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. We have asked the provider for an action plan to address these issues.
