Date of assessment 23 January to 2 February 2026. Sylvian Care Swindon is registered to provide support to people in their own homes, including support for people with dementia and physical disabilities. We inspected the service as it had not yet been rated by the Care Quality Commission. At the time of the inspection, the service was supporting 19 people with a regulated activity of personal care. People had detailed information within their care and support plans to support the delivery of person-centred care. Risks were identified and measures were put in place to reduce these risks and protect people from harm. Staff had been recruited safely and received effective support from leaders. Where incidents occurred, the service learned from these to improve practice. People’s medicines were managed safely. The service worked well with other healthcare agencies. Professionals commented on how the service was responsive, creative, caring and resilient. The service sought consent from people before providing care, and where people lacked capacity, the service worked in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). Leaders were knowledgeable and compassionate. Staff felt able to approach leaders with any concerns. Staff were clear about their roles and responsibilities, and audits were effective in identifying improvements at the service. However, there were some incidents which had not been reported to Care Quality Commission (CQC). The manager told us they would ensure all safeguarding incidents would be reported to CQC going forward. These incidents had been reported to the local authority.
