The service demonstrated safe staffing, person-centred care planning, effective governance and a compassionate, well-trained workforce with no regulatory breaches identified.
Strengths
· People felt safe and staff understood safeguarding responsibilities; risk assessments were in place for moving and handling, medicines and environmental risks.
· Effective recruitment procedures ensured only suitable staff were employed, with DBS checks and references completed before commencement.
· Ongoing training programme including dementia awareness, safeguarding, food hygiene and safe moving and handling kept staff skills current.
· Staff acted in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, protecting people from unlawful restriction.
· Care plans were person-centred, reflecting individual preferences, and were regularly reviewed with people and their relatives.
