Date of assessment: 17 February 2026 to 4 March 2026. We assessed all quality statements from safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led key questions. The overall rating of the service was required improvement. Mentaur Community Support Limited supports people living with a learning disability and autistic people in supported living with personal care. Accommodation is provided in separate units each with communal lounge, with a dining area and kitchen. At the time of this assessment there were 4 people using the service who were in receipt of regulated activity. CQC only inspect the services received by people who are receiving regulated activities. We assessed the service against the ‘Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. Not all people were encouraged to lead their lives in their chosen way and take control of decisions about their care. Independence was not always effectively encouraged or supported. People were not always supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives People received dignified care that respected their privacy, but care and support was not always person-centred. Individualised care and support plans were in place however these could be improved to contain people’s lists of medicines and equipment as well as goals and aspirations. People’s preferred communication styles were known and respected. Staff knew what people were communicating by patterns of actions, gestures and speech. Staff completed safeguarding training and knew how to raise concerns. The provider did not always assess and manage risks, and some improvements were required to the environment, care planning, medicines management and audit processes. We found there was enough staff deployed to meet people’s needs, although feedback received included a high staff turnover and occasional staff shortages, mainly at weekends. We found staff were knowledgeable about people’s individual needs. We identified 2 breaches of legal regulations in relation to person-centred care and good governance. Quality monitoring processes did not identify all the concerns we found during this assessment. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment
