   Chinite Home Care, a small domiciliary agency providing mainly live-in care to eight people, was rated Good overall following a focused inspection of Safe and Well-led. Minor improvements were noted around PRN medicine protocols, which the registered manager addressed promptly after the inspection.

   Concerns (1)

   • minorMedication management: “protocols were not always in place for people who were prescribed medicines to use as and when needed (known as PRN), such as pain relief medicines.”
   Strengths

   • · Medicines were managed safely; staff were trained and competency assessed.
   • · People were protected from the risk of abuse and safeguarding procedures were understood by staff.
   • · Risks to people's health were assessed appropriately and managed through detailed care plans and risk assessments.
   • · Safe recruitment procedures including DBS, references and right-to-work checks.
