Date of assessment 16 February 2026 to 26 February 2026. In Home Care Chichester is a domiciliary care service providing support to people living in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where personal care is provided. At the time of our assessment 25 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. The service supported people with physical disabilities and general frailty. Some people supported were living with dementia and 2 people had a learning disability. The assessment was prompted by the age of the current rating and was conducted to provide a more up-to-date assessment of compliance. The provider had effective systems in place to deliver safe and effective care. However, management oversight and governance systems were not always robustly applied which meant some areas needed improvement. Risk management and assessment processes required strengthening to ensure information was accurate and detailed. The way staff were deployed did not always ensure people received consistent and coordinated care. The provider did not always ensure a structured approach to supporting workforce wellbeing and equality. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of safeguarding procedures, medicines were administered safely, and there was a clear commitment to providing person-centred care and promoting positive outcomes for people. Staff received comprehensive training and safe recruitment processes ensured staff were safe to support people. Staff provided compassionate, respectful, and dignified care and were described as ‘kind,’ ‘thoughtful’ and ‘caring.’ We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. The service was not familiar with ‘Right support, right care, right culture and were unable to evidence how this guidance had been embedded into the culture of the service.
