Date of assessment: 25 November to 19 December 2025 Alpenbest South is a homecare agency registered to provide personal care to people in their own homes including those over the age of 65, people living with dementia and people with a learning disability and/or autistic people. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. The service was providing personal care to approximately 500 people at the time of the assessment. We assessed the service against ‘Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. People received safe care provided by appropriately trained staff. Staff knew how to recognise and report safeguarding concerns within the organisation and externally. Risk assessments contained information for staff to follow to keep people safe. Staff told us they had sufficient time to travel between visits, and they had access to the appropriate equipment to fulfil their roles. Staff assessed people’s needs and supported them to attend health and social care related appointments. Staff had understood the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the steps should they take to apply its principles to the care they provided. Care plans contained the information required for staff to provide care to people and staff told us they had sufficient time to read care plans. Staff told us their workload was manageable and that the service was well-led. They told us they could approach the management team when they needed support, and they received regular supervisions where they felt able to speak up. The service had effective governance systems in place and leaders continuously looked at ways to improve the service. Staff told us they felt valued and the registered manager worked well with local partners to achieve positive outcomes for people.
