Date of assessment: 13 January 2026 to 12 February 2026. Richmond Village Aston on Trent DCA is a domiciliary care agency registered to provide personal care, to people living in their own homes within Richmond retirement village Aston on Trent. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal care and/or support with eating and drinking. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection 18 people were receiving personal care. Richmond Village Aston on Trent DCA is part of a retirement village, which included a care home. People who received care in their own homes had access to the facilities across the village, such as the wellness spa, library, café and restaurant. This inspection was carried out due to the age of the previous rating. People were supported to be safe. Care plans were person-centred and contained the information required for staff to provide safe care. People’s needs were assessed before they used the service. People’s care needs and any associated risks were assessed and actions taken to help manage these. Systems were in place to ensure medicines were administered safely. Staff knew how to recognize and report safeguarding concerns within the organisation and externally.The service worked well with other healthcare professionals, escalating any health concerns to the relevant agencies appropriately. Staff understood what actions to take where people’s needs changed. Leaders valued their staff team and worked to support their well-being. Staff were recruited safely through robust pre-employment checks to ensure their suitability for the role. Staff told us they could approach the management team when they needed support, and they received regular supervisions and felt able to speak up. The service had effective governance systems in place and leaders continuously looked at ways to improve the service. There was a positive learning and improvement culture which promoted and ensured good outcomes for people.

Minor issues with daily log specificity and occasional missed medicine administration signatures were identified but both were being actively addressed through audit and management action.
