I Care Service (Norfolk Ltd) received an overall rating of Requires Improvement at its first inspection following re-registration in August 2017, with Safe and Well-Led rated Requires Improvement due to inadequate risk assessment records, failure to notify CQC and the local authority of safeguarding incidents and medication errors, and insufficiently systematic audit and governance processes. Effective, Caring and Responsive were all rated Good, reflecting competent and kind staff, sound MCA practice, responsive complaints handling and effective end of life care.
I Care Service achieved a Good rating across all five key questions at this January 2020 inspection, representing improvement from the previous Requires Improvement rating. The only area requiring attention was insufficient detail in mental capacity recording, for which a recommendation was made to consult current guidance and update records accordingly.
