Kare Plus Romford provides care and support to people living in their own home. Not everyone using Kare Plus Romford received regulated activity; the CQC only inspects the service being received by people provided with ‘personal care’; help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do we also take into account any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection, there were 48 people using the service. This assessment was carried out without a visit to the location’s office. We used technology such as electronic file sharing to enable us to review documentation. This assessment was carried out by one Assessor and one Inspector. Assessment activity started on 16 January 2024 and ended on 23 February 2024. We looked at 5 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes. We gave the service 48 hours’ notice of the inspection. This was because we wanted to make sure someone would be available to support us with the inspection.

Kare Plus Romford received an overall Good rating at its first inspection since registering in January 2016, with safe, effective, caring, and well-led domains all rated Good. The Requires Improvement rating for responsive reflected insufficiently personalised care plans and a failure to log one complaint, both subject to recommendations for improvement.
