Home Instead Senior Care (Yeovil, Sherborne, Bridport) received an overall rating of Good across all five key questions at its first CQC inspection in September 2018. The service demonstrated strong person-centred, flexible and compassionate care, with a minor weakness identified in the lack of formalised quality auditing systems, which the provider began to address following the inspection.
Concerns (3)
minor
Governance
: “there were no formal auditing of care arrangements and quality of the service. For example, people receiving their reviews at the agreed frequency (after 24 hours, 4 weekly), identifying any shortfalls”
minorStaff training: “There had been no specific training around areas of disability such as Parkinson's or differing types of dementia. However, it was recognised by the provider these were areas which needed to be provided”
minorCare planning: “there were instances where specific risk assessment would ensure guidance was available to caregivers. For example, where one person was at risk of pressure wounds and another person had risks around swallowing.”
