Daybreak Support Services achieved an overall Good rating at its first inspection, with strong person-centred care, safe medicines management, and effective partnership working across all domains except well-led. The Requires Improvement in well-led reflected the manager's failure to register with CQC and the provider's failure to notify CQC of the service name change prior to inspection.

: “There was a manager in post who was managing the service but this manager was not registered with the Care Quality Commission.”
moderateLeadership: “The name of the service had also changed since the new provider had taken over the service. We had told the provider that they needed to inform us of the change in name but they had failed to do so.”
Strengths
· People were protected from abuse, neglect and discrimination, and staff were trained to identify and report concerns.
· Individual risks were assessed in a way that promoted independence rather than restriction.
· Medicines systems were organised with regular audits and safe protocols for receipt, storage, administration and disposal.
· Staff received ongoing training, including support to achieve qualifications, and found training effective and engaging.
· Care plans were holistic, person-centred, and reviewed at least every three months.
