Date of Assessment: 28 October to 11 November 2025. The service is a domiciliary care agency supporting 26 people in their own homes, mainly older adults and people living with dementia. The service provides both hourly visits and live-in care and is part of the Home Instead franchise network. The service provided safe, effective and person-centred care. Staff understood people’s needs and delivered care in line with current guidance. There were enough staff with the right skills and experience, and managers supported them through regular supervision and appraisal. Risks were assessed and managed and learning from incidents was embedded. Medicines were generally managed safely, although some care plans did not fully reflect current prescriptions and staff roles in medicine administration needed clearer documentation. People were treated with kindness, dignity and respect. Staff communicated well and supported individuals to make informed decisions about their care. Care was flexible and responsive to people’s changing needs, and information was provided in ways people could understand. Complaints were managed appropriately, and the service promoted equality, diversity and inclusion. Leadership was visible and supportive. Managers set clear expectations, maintained effective governance arrangements and encouraged open communication and learning. Staff understood the organisation’s objectives and felt able to raise concerns. The service worked with external partners and used available data to monitor outcomes and improve practice.
