Bradcare is a domiciliary care service providing care packages to people that live in their own homes. Date of Assessment: 15 May to 6 June 2025. This assessment was carried out in response to concerns received relating to staff training and support. At the last inspection in 2019 the service was rated good. This is the first inspection of this company since a change of ownership in December 2023. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive a regulated activity of personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. Systems were in place to learn lessons from incidents, complaints and safeguarding. People were supported by the number of staff they needed. Staff had been trained in safeguarding adults and understood how to protect people from abuse. However, safeguarding children training had not been provided. Although the agency did not directly support any children, it is good practice to ensure staff understand the regulations around safeguarding children, as they may meet them when visiting people using the service. We identified gaps in training for staff which were fed back to the provider. The provider had an action plan in place to address these shortfalls. Where staff supported people with their medicines, they were trained and their competency assessed prior to practice. Staff worked with all agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving services. People and their advocates knew how to raise concerns. The provider had systems in place to maintain oversight and drive improvements in the service. Care plans and assessments took account of people’s communication, personal care and health needs. The provider told us that people’s choice was important, and that people can request named carers. All the people we spoke with confirmed this. Most staff felt supported in their roles. Staff understood their roles and were passionate about the support they provided to people. There was a culture of continuous learning and improvement to ensure the person received good quality care. The provider told us they believed in a supportive culture and that staff wellbeing was important to the company and talked about plans to introduce a mental health support line. At the time of the assessment there was no registered manager at the service.
