Date of Assessment: 2 February 2026 to 26 March 2026 Genuine Care Ltd is a domiciliary care service providing care and support to people in their own homes. The service is registered to support older adults, people with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments. At the time of the assessment, 38 people were receiving care. We assessed the service against the ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to consider whether autistic people and people with learning disabilities were supported with respect, equality, dignity, choice, independence, and good access to local communities. The provider was meeting the principles of ‘Right support, right care, right culture’. People were supported in a way that recognised them as individuals, respected their rights, and promoted independence. Care and support were person‑centred and based on people’s assessed needs, preferences, and desired outcomes. Staff worked collaboratively with people, their families, and relevant health and social care professionals to ensure care was coordinated and consistent. A positive culture was evident within the service, people were treated with dignity and respect, and their choice, inclusion, and wellbeing were actively promoted. There were enough staff who had been recruited safely and had access to a structured induction, ongoing training, and support to enable them to carry out their roles effectively. Managers ensured staff received regular training and supervision to maintain high standards of care. Staff had completed safeguarding training and understood their responsibility to protect people from abuse and poor practice. The registered manager shared information appropriately with relevant agencies when safeguarding concerns were identified. Staff supported people in a safe way while promoting independence. Medicines were managed safely, and staff understood how to minimise the risk of infection. Staff had access to appropriate personal protective equipment when required. The provider promoted a culture of learning and continuous improvement where people were encouraged to raise concerns or share suggestions. Incidents were reviewed, analysed, and discussed to identify learning and implement improvements. The management team and staff worked well with people’s families and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for people using the service. Effective governance systems were in place, enabling the management team to maintain oversight of the service and the quality of care provided. There was a strong sense of teamwork within the service, which helped staff work together effectively to meet people’s needs.
