Date of inspection: 10 to 12 February 2026. The assessment was carried out due to the length of time since we last inspected the service. The CQC refers to these types of assessments as aged rating assessments. Business Box is a domiciliary care agency that provides care to older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities and sensory impairments, within their own homes. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks relation to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of our inspection there were 56 people receiving the regulated activity of personal care. The culture of the service was positive. All the feedback we received confirmed this. The registered manager had a visible presence within the service, was open and transparent and welcomed feedback. The service knew the importance of teamwork and communication which supported people in receiving a good experience and quality care. Managerial arrangements were effective which supported governance and oversight of the service overall. Whilst minor shortfalls were identified these were taken seriously and prompt action was taken to resolve them and lessons learnt. A number of audits were undertaken to ensure the service was monitored well and policies and procedures in place complemented this. Effective systems were in place to assess, manage risk and safeguard people from harm and abuse. People received a comprehensive assessment of their needs prior to support commencing and accompanying care plans and risk assessments were overall detailed and reflective of people. Staff were treated equally and understood their roles and responsibilities. They were encouraged to give feedback and were supported well. Staff had received a thorough induction; appropriate training with their competencies checked through spot checks and regular supervisions. There were enough suitably experienced and safely recruited staff deployed to ensure care was delivered as planned and at the time it was arranged. Staff knew people well and they delivered person centred care. Infection Prevention Control (IPC) measures were in place and medicines were managed safely. People were complimentary about how they were treated with kindness and compassion, and how their privacy and dignity was upheld. People had choice of how their care was arranged and the service encouraged people to remain independent and to maintain relationships with family and friends.
