   The Upper Hand Care Limited met the previous Regulation 17 requirement notice through improved governance, oversight, training and audits. Well-Led improved from Requires Improvement to Good, lifting the overall rating to Good.

   Strengths

   • · Improved governance and oversight following recruitment of a care coordinator and supervisor to support the registered manager.
   • · Systems introduced to monitor and assess quality and safety, with policies, audits and an ongoing improvement/action plan.
   • · Robust quality assurance including annual surveys, telephone monitoring and unannounced spot checks of staff.
   • · Strong induction and ongoing training, including specialist training in tracheotomy, epilepsy and end of life palliative care, supported by a training needs analysis.
   • · Medication audits demonstrated identification of issues and learning to mitigate further risks.
