Papillon Home Care achieved a Good rating across all five key questions at its first CQC inspection in June 2019, demonstrating safe, person-centred care delivered by a consistent and well-supported staff team. The only notable shortfall was two historic medication administration errors, which had been addressed through retraining and new systems.

Strengths

· People felt safe and staff demonstrated strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and abuse types
· Consistent small teams of staff allocated to each person, with planned routes ensuring punctual visits
· Detailed, personalised care plans co-produced with people and their relatives
· Strong end-of-life care practice including recognised qualifications and coordination with community nurses and hospice staff
· Staff went above and beyond, including a staff member taking a person on holiday to support their wellbeing
