Date of inspection: 27th February to 5th March 2026. Town Close is an extra care housing scheme registered to provide personal care to people in their own homes. At the time of our assessment, there were 16 people receiving a regulated activity. CQC only assesses the service being received by people provided with ‘personal care’; help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. People’s needs were assessed before they began receiving care. The information gathered was used to ensure they received person-centred care and support, which was clearly documented in their care plans. Risk assessments were completed to help minimise potential risks and ensure that people received safe and appropriate care. People were safeguarded from the risk of harm and abuse. Staff supporting them had the knowledge and confidence to recognise safeguarding concerns, and understood their responsibilities to report any accidents, incidents, or concerns appropriately. People were supported to have maximum choice and control in their lives, and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. Medicines were handled and administered safely. Staff completed appropriate training in medicines management and had their competency assessed before they were permitted to support people with their medication. Effective systems were in place to oversee and monitor the quality of the service. Accidents, incidents and safeguarding concerns were regularly reviewed to promote safety and ensure appropriate action was taken when required. All people using the service were given opportunities to share their feedback.
