   This was a targeted, unannounced inspection of The Willows care home on 12 January 2022 focused on infection prevention and control and staffing pressures, prompted by information of concern. Inspectors were assured on all IPC measures and the service was inspected but not rated.

   Strengths

   • · National guidance was followed on the use of PPE and regular Covid 19 testing was taking place.
   • · Staff had received training in handwashing, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and use of PPE.
   • · Procedures and risk assessments were in place to manage and minimise the risks of Covid 19.
   • · Systems allowed people to be admitted to the home safely.
   • · Alternative visiting measures such as video calls were used and a visiting pod was built.
