Happy Care achieved a Good overall rating following a focused inspection of Safe and Well-Led, having remedied a prior breach of Regulation 19 around recruitment. The service was noted for exceptional leadership and a strong person-centred culture, with only minor recording issues identified.

- minorRecord keeping: “we did discuss how they should make a note of when they tried to contact another provider for references but had been unsuccessful.”
- minorCare planning: “In other places, plans and risk assessments required a little more detail and we fed this back to the registered manager.”

Strengths

· Provider and staff consistently went above and beyond commissioned hours to ensure people's dignity and safety, including uncharged extra visits.
· Strong person-centred culture with outstanding leadership support for both people using the service and staff.
· Recruitment record-keeping improved significantly since last inspection; provider no longer in breach of Regulation 19.
· Staff felt highly valued; management provided practical support such as transport to enable staff to fulfil their roles.
· Active community engagement including sponsoring local sports teams and hosting a Somali Culture and Heritage exhibition.
