Social Care Reablement – Estuary House, a Devon County Council domiciliary reablement service, was rated Good across all five key questions at its May 2019 inspection. The service demonstrated particular strength in its well-managed emergency transfer of care packages and its commitment to person-centred, independence-promoting reablement.
Strengths
· Highly responsive management of emergency transfer of 75 care packages from another provider within four days, with person-centred care plans completed for each individual.
· People felt safe and staff completed detailed risk assessments covering personal care, falls and environment.
· Staff were well-supported with regular supervision, appraisal, and training including the Care Certificate and health and social care diploma.
· Strong multi-disciplinary working with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, district nurses and GPs.
· Effective governance and quality assurance systems including monthly reviews and a service improvement plan.
