Date of assessment: 26 November 2025 to 13 January 2026. The service is a care at home service providing support to children and younger adults with a learning disability and autistic people, as well as those living with physical disabilities or sensory needs. Not everyone who used the service received the regulated activity of personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This relates to help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. There were 6 people receiving a regulated activity at the time of our inspection. An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. The provider had developed the service in line with the key principles of choice, independence and inclusion. Relatives felt their family members were safe and well cared for. Staff understood safeguarding and risk management, and medicines were handled safely. Infection control was effective. Care was based on best practice, with regular assessments and monitoring. Staff worked well with healthcare partners and people’s consent was respected. Staff were caring. Independence was encouraged, and relatives praised the caring approach. Staff wellbeing was supported. Care was person-centred and support plans were detailed. People were involved in decisions where possible and complaints and concerns were managed appropriately. End of life care plans required further development to reflect people’s wishes in this area. Values were at the centre of the service and leadership promoted a positive culture. Governance systems were strong and staff felt able to speak up. The service worked well with external partners while focusing on continuous improvement.
