We carried out this inspection on 30 September 2025. This assessment was carried out in response to CQC receiving information of concern. Geocare Services Limited is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to adults of all ages, people with dementia, people living with physical disabilities and sensory impairments. At the time of our inspection there were 100 people using the service. Of those, 97 people were receiving support with their personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. The provider’s systems were not always effective in ensuring people received safe care and treatment. Systems to review and monitor medicines were not always effective and did not always ensure medicines were administered safely. There was a lack of governance. The Mental Capacity Act was not effectively applied and we found no evidence of mental capacity assessments or best interest decisions. Care plans lacked detail and did not consistently reflect people's care needs, goals, preferences, or aspirations. This limited people's ability to be involved in decisions about their care and reduced opportunities for promoting autonomy and wellbeing. We found risks to people were not fully assessed and risk assessments were not in place to guide staff on how to support people safely and effectively. The provider had failed to implement systems to ensure effective deployment of sufficient numbers of competent staff to meet people’s needs. The provider was in breach of 4 legal regulations relating to safe care and treatment, the need for consent, complaints and good governance. In instances where CQC has begun a process of regulatory action, we may publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded, if the action has been taken forward.
